It's OK Mommy

it has become really hard for finley to take her naps in the living room while the girls are playing. they are usually chasing each other squealing, playing follow the leader or jumping. anyone who has ever visited our house knows that they have no idea what their inside voice is.

so, today, i thought i would try something new and put finley in the crib upstairs. well, that lasted all of about 30 seconds until she woke up and realized that she was alone. tears started and poured for about 30 minutes before i finally gave in and went and picked her up. before i went upstairs to get her, i was playing with the girls and just put my head in my hands while i was listening to her cry. it was literally breaking my heart to hear her. preslee quickly said, "what's wrong mommy, are you ok?" i assured her that i was and was just sad because i wanted finley to take a nap and stop crying and she wouldn't. she patted me on the back and said, "don't worry about baby finley mommy, she's ok, she's just a little thing."

thank you God for the sweetest most tender hearted little girls that i have ever known. give drew and i guidance everyday as we teach them how to become loving, caring adults.

Grown up Conversations

how is is that i feel like the conversations i have with the girls are getting more grown up by the day?

tonight as i was putting preslee in bed she said, "mommy, i need a book." i reminded her that she already had a book in her bed. she said, "but i need two because i need a choice when i wake up later to read."

on the way home from nana and pop-pop's tonight, we saw a field full of cows. i commented to the girls to look out the window and see the cows. i even said look, they are eating their dinner. mason quickly corrected me. "they aren't eating, it is dark and they are getting ready for a hot bath and bed."

Rainy Days

for their second birthday, preslee and mason got raincoats and rainboots. they have asked almost everyday since their birthday (in january) to wear their boots and go outside. well, thursday, their wishes came true. it was a cold, dreary day and out they went. ignore preslee's blue nose. i caught her putting "makeup" on with a blue marker!

I just love this baby!

finley is the sweetest baby i know. she smiles at absolutely everything. how can you have a bad day when you see this sweet face grinning at you?

We're Having a Party

the conversations that i have on a day to day basis with preslee and mason are priceless. i know they think that their mommy is a nut job because i just feel like these days are slipping by so fast and i want to have a clip of absolutely everything that they do. so, i find myself videoing everything. here was our tea party today, complete with wegman's sugar cookies and lemonade!

Twinkle Twinkle

it seems like the girls have been singing to us for so long and i have yet to get a really good video of them. their little voices are changing almost everyday and the sweet "baby words" that they used to use are being replaced by grown up correct grammar. i have to get better about this. here they were today singing one of my favorites, twinkle twinkle little star.
