april 17, 2009,
our 5 year wedding anniversary. tomorrow, drew and i will have been married half a decade. it's hard for me to remember a time when we weren't together. together we have accomplished so much. we are the proudest parents of 3 beautiful little girls and in a few months we will be moving into our dream home.
one of my good friends shared a tradition with me that she and her husband do every year on their anniversary and drew and i decided to adopt it. every year we will share three words with each other that describe the past year of our marriage. my words this year, were tested, rewarding and united. this year has been one of the most challenging years of our marriage as we often stumbled through parenting two babies who are now truly toddlers, all while juggling other priorities. it has also been one of the most gratifying years as we welcomed sweet finley to our family and as we continue to invest in our friendship, while enjoying our three greatest loves, preslee, mason and finley.
in honor of our 5 years together, here are the 5 things i love most about drew:
1. his integrity: i am not sure that i have ever met anyone with more character. some people will demonstrate different virtues when in different situations, but not drew. drew pursues the same excellence and integrity in every situation.
2. his commitment to our family: drew works so hard to allow me the opportunity to stay home with the girls. he sees it as a privilege to provide for us.
3. his sense of humor: he always knows how to make me laugh even when i think there isn't a smile left in me.

4. his fatherhood: he is the best father that i know and he loves it. it shows in all he does for the girls. he wrestles on the floor, changes diapers, even the poopy ones, wipes away their tears, holds finley for hours every night until she falls asleep, gets up in the middle of the night when preslee or mason needs their nose wiped or a drink of water and faithfully prays for his girls. he strives to be a role model that they can always look up to and he is their hero.
5. his friendship: i am so thankful for drew's friendship. he listens, he comforts, he laughs even when i am not really funny, he cries when it matters the most and he is fiercely loyal. he is the best friend that anyone could hope for.
drew, i am so grateful for the last 5 years with you. happy anniversary honey! i love you and i can't wait to see what the next 5 years will bring for us.
