*when, on our first date, he let me try his soft crabs just because i had never tasted them before, i knew would would make it. (those of you who know drew, know he never shares his food with anyone)
*when he would drive every other weekend from chapel hill to baltimore, even if i was working nights that weekend, just to see me, i knew we would make it.
*when we made it through his second semester of grad school, graduation, a new job and moving into our first house, i knew we would make it.
*when, together, we tackled the gigantic job of removing wallpaper on every wall in every room in our house, i knew we would make it.
*when i saw his beaming face as i walked down the aisle on our wedding day, i knew we would make it.
*when he sat by my side, cried tears with me and prayed that we would some day be parents, i knew we would make it.
*when he chugged a nasty Ensure shake because i had to drink them to gain weight when i was pregnant, i knew we would make it.
*when he waited on me hand and foot with a positive attitude during weeks of bed rest, i knew we would make it.
*when i saw the look on his face, when dr. weitz said, "you are going to have two baby girls", i knew we would make it.
*when he laid in my hospital bed and held me while i cried over our tiny baby girls in the NICU, i knew we would make it.
*when we made it through the first year of twins still going strong, i knew we would make it.
*when i watch preslee and mason's eyes light up when they see their daddy, i know we will make it.
*when we rode in the car for our first family road trip, no matter what went wrong or what went right, i knew it would be great because drew was by my side.
*when i watch him read a nightly bedtime story to the girls and do all the different voices, i know, we will make it.

Laura,
The day you were born your Dad and I began to pray for the young man who would one day be your husband. God answered our prayers when he sent Drew into your life. He's not our son-in-law...he's our son. He's a wonderful husband and father. You're both blessed to have come so far in the past four years. You've built a wonderful life together.
