over the course of being a mother, there are many sounds that you hear that you say to yourself, "this was the absolute best sound ever." first, it's your doctor saying, you're pregnant, or in our case, you're pregnant with twins. then, the ultrasound tech when she said, "you are having two little girls." or the sound of your baby's first cry the day they are born. then the first time they laugh or the first time that they say mama. i remember that day so well. i think i cried from sheer joy all day. but today, preslee and mason gave us another amazing sound for the record books. they said, "i love you." OK, not in those exact words, but here's the story. grab your kleenex!
drew and i tell the girls that we love them, oh about 300 times a day. recently we have been teaching them to sign i love you. they haven't quite mastered that yet, but tonight, when we said i love you, they said, "du-doo" back to us. we both looked at each other with tears streaming down our faces and said, did you just hear that? so, we said, "love you", again and again they said du-doo. then at bedtime, as i layed them each in their cribs, i said mommy and daddy love you and they each said du-doo.
that my friends is the absolute best sound that a parent ever hears!

I know what you mean. I still remember those days with you and Amy. I remember knocking on the bedroom door and you and Amy would say, "Who sis it?" Those little voices are so precious.
Mason and Preslee are such blessed little girls to have so many people who love them.
What precious words!! We can't wait to hear Allison say that back to us. Like ya'll, we tell her we love her about a thousand times a day. Preslee and Mason are so sweet!
Ok, I did cry as well! What a wonderful feeling that must have been for you and Drew! So precious are your little girls.
