Happy 19 months Preslee and Mason

where do i start? this last month with the girls, we have seen more changes than ever. it must be a girl thing because they talk more than any other little boys i have ever seen. we are engaged in constant conversation all day long and i hear them talking to each other long after they are supposed to be napping. besides knowing animals, sounds, shapes and colors, they can count to three now too. they are amazing at puzzles and blocks. they love to play with playdoh, paint and color. no doors can stay opened because they want them closed. i hear "cose" and then the door slam. then i hear, "opup mommy" which means open and they want that same door that they just closed open again. they can name bert, ernie, grover and elmo on sesame street and love to call themselves "printess".

we started introducing them to the idea of potty training about a week ago. they have a video called potty power that they love. it's exciting to hear them scream out "powa" when they want to sit on the potty. we sit before and after naps and at bedtime. nothing consistent in the potty yet, but they know what to do and are anxious to sit down. i am hoping to at least get them trained for the daytime before the new baby comes.

we are working on manners now too. they do say "pees and taint u" and just in the last few days have started to say "sowwy" or sorry. yesterday they pulled all my recipe books off the shelf and dumped my recipe box on the floor. as i was cleaning up that mess, i hear the door to my china cabinet open and glasses clanking together. before i could say anything i hear preslee say, "mae-mae (that's what she calls mason) twubble" and mason say," sowwy mommy." (preslee says mason trouble and mason says sorry mommy) how could i be angry at them? i just hope they remember sorry when they are 16 years old!

just this week as we found out the sex of our new baby, it started to hit home for me. the last 19 months have just been the girls and i. i have loved every single second of being able to stay at home with them all the time (thanks drew!) i have been able to watch them as they have learned every new skill, word, and smile. i wish i could record every minute of everyday we spend together. even though i don't get as much one on one time with them as a mom with a single child, i feel like we are a team. it's so neat to watch them play together and tackle stacking those blocks and knocking them down as a team. i have learned how to juggle my time and become so much more organized than i ever was so they each know just how special they are.

i can't wait for their baby sister to meet them. she will have so much to learn about this big world from them and i know that they are going to protect her and love her so much.

happy birthday girls! we are so proud of you, how far you have come, and all you are going to become!

It's amazing how much they've changed in the last 19 months. They're such beautiful and bright little ladies! Our only regret is that they live 9 hours away. We miss them so much.

Laura you're an amazing Mommy. That's why they've learned so much in the past 19 months. You take so much time with them and introduce them to so many new things. They're lucky little ladies.
