21 week appt

yesterday was our 21 week OB appt. drew was out of town for work, so i took the girls with me. it was great for my ob to see them and see how much they had grown since she delivered them almost 20 months ago. when the nurse used the doppler to hear the baby's heartbeat, preslee and mason immediately stopped chatting and became so quiet. she explained to them that what they were hearing was the baby's heartbeat. so, the rest of the afternoon, they would say to anyone who would listen, "hear baby's heart." dr. weitz asked them where the baby was and they now point to my stomach and say, "mommy's tummy." i never imagined that they would even remotely understand what was happening and that we were going to have another baby in 3 1/2 months, but i think they are getting it a little. when i ask them if they are having a brother or sister, mason always says sister, but preslee still says brother. boy, will she be surprised!
